Objective:
To study the protective effects of ginkgo leaf extract agents against lung ischemia/reperfusioninjury. The content of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and lung cell ultrastructural changes in theelectron microscope and lung wet / dry weight ratio in injured tissue, In order to clarify theprofective effect of Ginkgo biloba extract (Effect of Egb761) on clinical lungischemia-reperfusion.
MethodsThirty wistar rats used for unilateral lung ischemia/reperfusion model were randomly dividedinto three groups: sham operation group(Sgroup,n=10),ischemia/reperfusion group(I/Rgroup,n=10),and ginkgo leaf exact agents with ischemia/reperfusion group(EGB+I/Rgroup,n=10).Superoxide dismutase(SOD), electron microscopy ultrastructure of lung and wet /dry weight ratio were observed between ischemia/reperfusion group and ginkgo leaf exactagents with ischemia/reperfusion group .
ResultsSuperoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was significantly reduced in lung ischemia / reperfusion group (I / R group), while significantly increased in the application of Ginkgo biloba extract(Effect of Egb761) + ischemia / reperfusion group (I / R group). Between two groups theintegrity of the mitochondria was different. In I / R group, wet/dry weight ratio was increased, while in Egb761 +I / R group wet /dry weight ratio decreased. It showed the use of Ginkgobiloba extract (Effect of Egb761) after lung ischemia-reperfusion can reduce the severity oflung tissue damage.
Conclusion:
Egb761 can significantly reduced the lung wet / dry weight ration after Ischemia andreperfusion, and the mitochondrial was relatively complete in the group of Egb761+ I/R. Thesuperoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was significantly decreased in I / R group, while theapplication of Ginkgo biloba extract lung tissue superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was significantly increased. All the facts explained the protective effect of Egb761after ischemia /reperfusion injury.
