Abstract

Objective: To study the association of HLA-Cw*0602 allele with genetic susceptibility to psoriasis vulgar (PV) in Uighurs from Xinjiang.Methods: Using high-resolution polymerase chain reaction amplification with sequence specific primers(PCR-SSP),we detected the distribution frequencies of HLA-Cw*0602 allele among 200 patients with PV and 200 healthy controls from Xinjiang Uighurs,and analyzed the correlation of some carrying HLA-Cw*0602 allele to their family history with PV.Results:①HLA-Cw*0602 allelic frequency increased in patients with PV compared with control group (72%vs24%, X2=108,551,OR=10.171,95% confidential interval 6.410～16.140, P=0.000),and there was no difference between male and female patients with PV.②The age at onset for Cw6 psoriasis was earlier than those for Cw6 negative ones (80.2%vs28.6%, X2=10.256,OR=0.950,95% confidential interval 0.920～0.981, P=0.001).③The frequency of HLA-Cw*0602 allele was no difference in PV patients with positive history between that in those with negative one (X2=0.000,OR=0.986,95% confidential interval 0.252～3.860, P=1.000).Conclusion: HLA-Cw*0602 allele is associated tightly with genetic susceptibility to PV in the Uighurs from Xinjiang and the carriers of HLA-Cw*0602 allele are easily to develop early-onset psoriasis(ages at onset less than 40 years), but this is not in who frequently have the predisposition to familial history with PV.
